Turnitin for Academic Integrity: Similarity, AI & Feedback

In coordination with the Professional Development Centre, the Khalifa Library at Al Ain University (AAU) organized a workshop titled “Turnitin for Academic Integrity: Similarity, AI and Feedback.” Dr. Abdoulaye Kaba, Library Director, conducted the workshop.
The workshop provided faculty and students with practical guidance on the effective use of Turnitin to support academic integrity and enhance the quality of academic work. Through practical examples and live demonstrations, Dr. Kaba explained how Turnitin works for faculty and students, and how to access, read, and interpret Turnitin reports.
The session also highlighted the importance of understanding Similarity Reports and AI-related indicators, emphasizing their appropriate use and interpretation in an academic context. Dr. Kaba also demonstrated key Turnitin settings and features faculty can use to provide effective feedback and support students in improving their academic writing and maintaining academic integrity. At the end of the workshop, participants had the opportunity to ask questions, share comments, and discuss practical issues related to using Turnitin.
